I am a girl's best friend, loving and caring
I wonder what it's like to be loved and to have a family?
I hear other dogs barking in the trailer park
I see a mouse scurrying across the church floor
I want to play like a puppy
I am a girl's best friend, loving and caring
I pretend to like the neighbors dog, Samuel
I feel scared when my master leaves me all alone
I touch the "preacher man's"lap with my cold nose
I worry that one day my new family will leave me all alone
I cry when they leash me outside
I am a girl's best friend, loving and caring
I understand that I have to behave when she tells me too
I say hold me tight and I'll always be your best friend
I dream that one day we can run free in an open field
I try to show her how much I care
I hope that my master's mother will someday return home
I am a girl's best friend, loving and caring
Wow, Clint, you've got talent for poems. I feel you described Winn-Dixie very well. I can tell you read the book and put a lot of thought into it.
